The tanks

Accessible from the menu" Virtual Mechanism - Fluids -Tanks "or

from the bar of tool cuve_ico.jpg, it is possible to load several tanks.

A first choice can be made concerning the geometry of the tank :

The geometrical shape determines the behaviour of the draining or the filling of the tank (the mathematical equation is integrated into the model)

Before placing a tank, which is carried out by "Drag & Drop" + Shift, it's also pissible to set :

It is always possible to come back to this window of edition. This is allowed only in Stop mode  via the contextual menu.

Warning :

At the time of placement of the first tank, you can set the scale of the layout.

Warning, this scale is set ONCE and FOR ALL, and can not be modified anymore.

All the tanks deposited thereafter will be adapted to this scale.

The height of the bottom of the first tank is regarded as the value of reference for the geometrical height of all the other placed tanks and valves.

After placement, the tank is equipped with a dynamic scrolling list in real time showing you :

      • the geometrical height of the first deposited tank ;

      • its maximum capacity ;

      • the height of the contained liquid ;

      • the contained volume.

A tank can be filled and emptied by using several circuits.

To visualize levels and volumes evolution, see Tools for analysis of the signals.

Notes :

The volume of the fluid introduced by a valve corresponds to the product of the flow by the duration of the open valve time.

This time corresponds to the frequency of acquisition cycles of the ProcesSim data.

It is not rare to have to wait a few hours to ensure that the tank is filled !

To accelerate the filling process, this time can be multiplied by a speed up factor accessible from the options of configuration. (cf. General features and fluids flow rate selection)
