Missions

The Mobility Committee of the Department of Sciences and technologies is an internal advisory body of HEH.be aiming at supervising and reinforcing international mobility within the university college's department.

In pursuing its objectives, the DST's Mobility Committee encourages and develops an integrated "Mobility culture", which is to raise awareness among players involved in international mobility and to mobilise them (students, administrative and teaching staff members). The involvement is at the highest level whether for stakeholders in the field or the institution's leadership.

The main missions of the DST's Mobility Committee are:

  • Promoting international mobility within the Department of Sciences and technologies to students and administrative and teaching staff members;
  • Relaying information between the Department of Sciences and technologies and the International Relations Commission (CRI) of HEH.be;
  • Providing information about international mobility to the department's sections, including by forwarding the calls of ARES, Erasmus+, FAME and ERABEL mobility programmes;
  • Providing information, on the basis of student applications' compilation, to students from all sections interested in a mobility for the following academic year;
  • Regarding academic mobility for students, analysing student applications on the basis of their academic career and the Student’s Annual Programme (PAE in French) during which the mobility will take place. The relevant section's representative will provide the detailed opinion of the section (favourable or unfavourable) according to chosen critera;
  • Regarding mobility for placements, analysing the company/business/research centre and the students' desired objectives during their internship. The internship referent of the relevant section will provide his/her opinion so that students may begin to compile their mobility files;
  • Representing the Department of Sciences and technologies during events about mobility (trainings, conferences, workshops, etc.);
  • Submitting to the Department Council any proposal aiming at facilitating, supporting and encouraging administrative and teaching staff mobility as well as student mobility;
  • Increasing internal and external communication related to mobility, for instance thanks to an active research of new institutional partners and invited experts;
  • Developing an annual plan regarding international mobility on the basis of each section's action plans;
  • Taking into consideration the recommendations and objectives of international mobility mentioned in the institutional strategic plan.
